This is the new Bike & Board taking shape on Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights. The poster writes: “Yay! My new neighbors! They are getting the shop together, and they said they’ll be “wrenching” in a week! Retail will happen as things come in. The place is looking pretty nice, and I’m very pleased they matched my storefront colors of red, black and white.”

Anyone know what type of bikes they’re going to be selling/servicing? Shiny and new? Fixie chop-shop? Just curious…

Sounds like they’re going to focus on regular commuter bikers but I’m pretty sure they’ll service any bike, here’s a word from their owner:

We are a shop geared towards the commuter and urban cyclist. We’ll carry lots of blinkey’s, fenders, hoody’s, wool clothing… Functional accessories. Cool products.

Our bike’s will be old, classic rebuilds. Bikes that are solid, sturdy, and reliable. Single speeds, Dutch cruisers, Fixed gears (gasp!), BMX’s, and Comfort cruisers. And, maybe… perhaps… some new bikes in the future.

We’ll be low key, hard working, and friendly.

Excellent. I’d love a nearby resource for vintage roadie parts. Friendly is a plus.
