A GL Correspondent writes with news for our Carroll Gardens and Gowanus readers about the slimy scammers that have been all over Brooklyn working scams that end up switching people from one energy company to another without their consent: “Idt canvasser spotted on carroll!” Guess they’re not reading blogs and understanding that there’s a lot of people out there to whom IDT canvasser is becoming a euphemism for “slimeball thief.”

Those slime bags made the Carroll Gardens run about a month ago.
I asked if I could ask a question, this was met witha great smile until I asked what color her undies were.
This works for telemarkters that sneak thru.

what should i do if they see my national grid bill? i just receive a letter from IDT energy saying they will be my gas supplier.

They’re still at it, folks. Please note – if you call IDT they’ll give you a cancellation confirmation #. It’s meaningless, and they’ll switch your account anyway. You need to call Con Ed & National Grid and have a block put on your account.

They came to my home in May, told me the same thing. Since I knew from conEd website that we can get discount by switching to other companies, I accepted the offer and signed the form.
During the past half year, I think I’m paying 15% less than before. Anyway, today I switched to another company.

my mistake, after checking the bills, I found out actually I paid less for a couple of months, then paid more for recent few months. I’m glad I switched today.

They’re at it RIGHT NOW. I am house-sitting in Williamsburg. 2 guys (sharing 1 sports-coat) are going up and down North 4 & North 5th.
