Doggie of the Day: The Coney Rottweiler

January 6th, 2009 · 3 Comments

Anyone who goes to Coney Island knows this dog and his companion. They guard some of the kiddie rides on the Bowery. This one didn’t really seem to have his heart in barking at us on the day we went to play with him.

Why are you tormenting the guard dog?? Isn’t his life miserable enough?

    My sentiments exactly, Anonymous.

How exactly are they being tormented? They are trained to bark and—in the worst case—bite anyone that comes near. You could be one block away but if they see movement they bark.

I calmed this dogs down when I visited by just talking to them nicely in a sing-songy voice. They are not that bad.

If you’re truly upset about these dogs, you might as well complain to the guys who placed them in this situation to begin with.
