A GL Reader writes in with the tantalizing tip that there will be some kick ass food available outside shows at the Bell House in Gowanus: “As you know, the [Red Hook] vendors were at the Bell House election party and apparently did bang-up business. Just heard from an employee that they will be coming out on a semi-regular basis for events there–starting with the AC Newman concert this weekend.”

That’s great news – I hoped that’s what would happen when they were there on Election Night. It seems like a great way for the vendors to make some money during the off-season to help pay off all the fancy equipment they had to buy this year to comply with the city regulations.

Awesome news! But will they be physically in the venue? Or have one of their massive trucks parked outside? I’d like to buy from them without having to commit to a show (no disrespect Bell House) every now and then.

See, there should be more of this kind of thing going on. It sucks that the permits thing cost them so much time and money last summer, but this is a perfect ‘make-lemonade’ scenario. Local business has to work together to save what’s worth saving.

they are parked outside the venue – at the election party there were three different vendors, one with huaraches, one with tacos and another with pupusas!

food of the future, thank you for that info! I can’t believe I’ll be able to have a pupusa in November! Thank you Bell House and vendors!
