Brookbit: Weird Light Over Brooklyn?

May 25th, 2008 · 2 Comments

From the GL Inbox last night at 12:00 AM comes this missive: “I saw a very strange light above the western horizon over Brooklyn at 11:47 p.m. Saturday night. If it was a shooting star, it was the biggest I have ever seen. It flashed blue-green and then disappeared. I am freaked out. Did anyone else see this? Could it have been some kind of ball lightening or something? Signed, Take me to your leader?”

Sounds like a meteor that turned into a fireball. Here’s a report of a similar strike from the Pacific Northwest in February. They even mention the “blue-green flash.”

But this does bring up a question. If aliens land in Brooklyn, does Marty Markowitz have a contingency plan in place? Or do we just take them to Junior’s for cheesecake? Inquiring minds want to know…

I was on a roof party in Brooklyn tonight – 5-25-08 and saw a series (3) of incredibly fast moving objects between the times of 8:30 and 9PM. They do not sound like the ones you are describing. These were yellowish/orange orb shaped objects. They were definably not planes or spot lights.
