Windsor Terrace is mourning Kyung-Sook Woo, the beloved owner of the dry cleaning store who was murdered in a robbery on Friday. (A suspect was arrested yesterday.) Lauren Collins of the Windsor Terrace Alliance sent of photos of the very sad and moving memorial that has grown outside the store. She writes:

The death has really rocked the community…The woman in blue is attaching a momento to the gate; on the left of the gate, someone has taped the police sketch of the suspect. Windsor Terrace is in some ways a small town and people really look out for each other but in this case, that wasn’t possible.

It’s safe to say that the brutal act has shaken people throughout South Brooklyn.

She truly was the sweetest woman, always had a smile and a kind word. And she was amazing at her craft. This was such a senseless act, and I feel so sorry for her poor family. Rest in peace.

I’ve known her for over 20 years and was like a mom to me…. She had a strong will to live with a gentle heart and I truly miss her. I have no doubt that she is with the God and I wish her family the best…

The guy who committed this heinous crime will have to have deal with the pain he caused to her family for rest of his life.
