Gowanus Neighborhood Walking Tour

Dan Wiley will lead an interactive walking tour around CUE’s new backyard, to explore the legendary Gowanus Canal waterway and the area’s environment, history, architecture, and future plans. Meet inside the Center’s New Headquarters at 168 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Free

Richmond Hill, Featuring Guyanese Liberty Avenue

Immigrants from Guyana (in South America) are a fascinating mix of African, South Asian, Caribbean and British culture. Now they are adapting to New York. We’ll view much of their commercial strip, a thriving segment of Liberty Avenue in South Richmond Hill. Then we’ll ascend Richmond Hill and explore transportation influences. Meet at NE corner of 104 St/Liberty Ave (Lefferts Blvd A train to 104 Street: do not take Rockaway A). Fees are $13.00 for non-members, $10.00 for members and $8.00 for seniors and students.
