Remember when another important little piece of Coney Island history was destroyed when the landmark B&B Carousell sign was painted over. Well, now we know what’s going in the space: a bowling place called “Magic Bowling.” How do we know this? Our keen powers of observation. Sure woulda’ been nice if they hadn’t destroyed an historic sign and could have found a way to make their presence known in a creative way.
Meanwhile, in Coney, Old B&B Carousell Bldg Will Be “Magic Bowling”

I think the sign was painted over awhile ago by the building owner, not the owner of this new business. Last week I talked with Alex, the owner of Surf Ave’s Magic Jungle, which is for kids birthday parties, to find out what’s planned for Magic Bowling since everyone was so curious since the sign went up.
Alex says Magic Bowling will be a private party place for older kids, and yes there will be bowling among other activities. But it is not a bowling alley and not for grown ups. He said it would be completed in about a month and welcomed us to stop by and have a look then

Alas the B&B Carousell is no longer in Coney Island and the building was standing empty. The ride was gone why not the sign? At least the building will house an amusement genre and not a site for any number of Fedders bullshit. So far anyway……

Hey, guys, is this place for sale? Can we buy it and turn it into a school bus parking lot? Huh? Huh? Oh man, that would be great.

Brilliant! Bowling alley’s for adults and kids are opening all over. There is a new revival for this stuff! But go to Coney Island/Brighton Beach and what do you get? This questionable stuff.
You know, “Magic Jungle” seems like a front. So does this. Glad Coney is being taken over by legitimate “family” oriented enterprises!

the sign was part of coney islands history, its too bad it couldnt be saved. But the way it was mounted to the building, it became part of the buildings facade, not to be removed without damaging the bricks it was nailed into.

The carousel and artwork within the building were all purchased by the City, are being restored, and will be reinstalled in Coney Island.
